Cultivating the vines
The Domaine de la Plaigne uses traditional cultivation, strictly monitoring the health of the vines, while respecting Nature and the quality of the harvest. Nothing is systematic, everything is reasoned, depending on the weather, the specific plot, and the health of the vines: the important thing is to anticipate.
Likewise, we protect our vine stocks in order to obtain fine grapes, but we leave the grass growing between them so as to reduce the use of chemicals.
Our vines, ¾ of them ‘goblet’ pruned and ¼ in ‘cordon guyot’, allow optimum production of the bunches of grapes.
This is a choice made for the quality of the wine, of course – but also to preserve this land that has been inherited and handed down through five generations.
